40 Amp Circuit Breakers

40 amp breakers, usually 2-pole 240V, feed electric ranges, cooktops and many A/C condensers and heat pumps. The right wire size depends on the wire type and its temperature rating, so check the equipment label and NEC Table 310.16 or ask your electrician.

Match your panel first. A breaker only fits the panel brand and line it is made for: Square D QO (QO240) or Homeline (HOM240), Eaton BR (BR240) or CH (CHF240), Siemens (Q240) or GE (THQL2140). Check the label inside your panel door, or send us a photo and we will match it.
